About resuming escorted package tours

In order to resume services for escorted package tours that started accepting applications from June 10, 2022, a guideline that describes important points for the relevant parties in the tourism industry, such as tour agencies, travel service providers, tour attendants, and accommodation providers was released on June 7, 2022.

The section below describes some of the points to be noted by the relevant parties in the tourism industry:

For planning a tour:

  • Travel agencies and other entities shall create a plan with consideration for avoiding crowds and for infection prevention.
  • Travel agencies and other entities shall endeavor to utilize facilities and other establishments that have thorough preventive measures against infection in place.

For selling a tour:

Travel agencies and other entities shall present the following point to the tour participants and obtain their agreement:

  • Thorough implementation of basic preventive measures against infection (1: wearing a mask, 2: disinfecting hands, 3: social distancing)
  • Signing up for private medical insurance
  • Advance registration to Visit Japan Web and use of Fast Track
  • If anyone is not following the above instructions, he/she may not be allowed to participate/continue to participate in the tour, etc.

In addition, there are some other things to note before and during a tour.
